The client

Arqiva is a leading communications infrastructure and media services company. It comprises four distinct businesses and each had its own vision and structure for the future. It’s CEO encouraged independent action and decision making close to the customers. But it needed a shared vision for the future that provided the context for the separate businesses, which would cement the organisation together and create alignment amongst all its leaders.

Edgecumbe’s contribution

Edgecumbe conducted a top team workshop for the Group CEO, the CEOs of the constituent businesses and the Group functional directors. Working through 5 key questions, the team were able to identify their shared vision and to work through the implications and program of action that needed to follow from it.

The outcome

When shared with the top 50 leader in the business, the vision was universally welcomed and recognised as a crucial ingredient in their future success and the group Strategy Director pointed out the notable increase in alignment that was the consequence of the top team workshop. He summed it up ‘it has made a real change’ and subsequent projects have been pursued by the top 50 to progress the actions required by the shared vision.
